PBPS Awarded UAC Grant
PBPS Awarded UAC Grant
In an effort to advance its priorities of serving a diverse community,
teaching children through the arts, and positioning the city as a
nationally recognized arts destination, the United Arts Council of
Greater Greensboro recently changed its criteria for awarding grants.
The PBPS Board submitted a grant application, and we're excited to
learn that we have received a $4,250 grant. We(along with six other
nonprofits) have joined the ten arts organizations already funded by
the UAC.
PBPS will use this grant to bring a nationally recognized Blues
educator to Greensboro for a workshop with area teachers, and present
four Blues in the Schools/Centers performances and a public concert.
Through this experience area teachers will be enabled to integrate a
course on the Blues into their music education. This will also help
establish a tighter relationship between the PBPS and the Guilford
County Schools and other area music educators.
We at the PBPS are proud to be recognized by the UAC as a viable arts
nonprofit contributing to our community. Here’s hoping for lasting UAC
partnerships with us and all of the new nonprofits receiving grants.
BIG thanks to Jeannie Duncan and the UAC Board for expanding their
assistance to Arts nonprofits in Gtown.
