Chuck Cotton:   2005 Keepin' The Blues Alive Award Winner

Chuck Cotton Wins 2005 KBA Award
The 2005 Keepin' The Blues Alive award went to Chuck Cotton, veteran drummer and long-time local blues supporter. Chuck received the award Saturday May 7, 2005 at the 19th Annual Carolina Blues Festival. He was introduced by band mate Shiela Klinefelter, the 2003 recipient of the KBA Award.

The KBA Award is presented every year at the festival by the Piedmont Blues Preservation Society to an individual who goes above and beyond the call to help support and preserve the blues in the Piedmont.

Chuck Cotton is the drummer for the Matt Hill Blues Band, winners of the 2004 PBPS Talent Showcase. He also plays drums in the Ladies Auxiliary and Bump & Logie's After Hours Blues Band. He has played drums for numerous local and national blues bands, including Steady Rollin' Bob Margolin.

Chuck's tireless support of the local blues scene has endeared him to everyone in the community. He is always available to perform at a Blues In The Schools appearance or at one of the many weekly blues jams.

And he is one hell of a great drummer, too!

Congratulations to Chuck Cotton, winner of the 2005 Keepin' The Blues Alive Award.
