Re-entry:
You will be able to leave the festival area and be re-admitted with your ticket.
Grounds: There will be no big tent
this year, but there will be mist tents to keep all ages cool if the weather
is hot. Be sure to bring lawn chairs or festival chairs. We'll
have plenty of picnic tables, as well as an interactive sculpture for the
kids to climb on.
Parking: The PBPS will be offering
limited premium parking right next to the gate for $5.00. Otherwise,
parking is free on Saturdays in the downtown parking garages on Church Street
or at Friendly and Davie Street. Do not park at the Children's Museum
-- you'll probably get towed.
Art Tapestry Raffle:
The PBPS is excited about a special touch the Festival will have this year.
The stage will be decorated with four tapestries representing a map of blues
images throughout its history, hand-painted by local artist Lida Witherspoon.
And YOU have a chance to own one of these tapestries! Raffle tickets
are now on sale for these art pieces, with proceeds benefiting the Piedmont
Blues Preservation Society. One raffle ticket will give you four chances
to win. One tapestry winner will be announced between each band on
the day of the Festival.
Each art piece is 2’-6” x 5’- 6” which you can hang on a wall, a window, a patio or especially behind your own band!
Raffle tickets cost $5.00 each and can be purchased at The Music Loft at
Lawndale Shopping Center in Greensboro, as well as at the Festival.
